What a show!

There are literally NO WORDS for the Northern Lights show last night! The ENTIRE sky, all directions, was the most indescribably beautiful, shimmering colors. I could not stop just taking photo after photo after photo. As the moon was setting around 10:30, the lights really came on strong. What I wasn’t prepared for were the gorgeous pinks and purples in addition to the greens and golds.

The iPhones did an amazing job of picking up the range of colors. Steve took some with his fancy camera, which I’m sure will be even better (I will post after he sorts through them.) But I could not bear to not just post my entire camera roll. Apparently another show is slated for tonight, but I do not know how anything could be better than what we saw last night! Cancel the vacation to Norway - we have already seen the very best aurora borealis ever!

All of the photos required at least 3-second exposures to capture the light (it was actually pitch black out), so hard to keep the humans completely still. Here is the audience assembled and enjoying the show.

This one of Birdie taking a picture is probably my favorite.

When we first went outside, waiting for darkness to fall and the show to begin!

Even the earliest colors blew us away - we had no idea what was about to come in about a half hour!

Our Aurora satellite map does not lie - we were in the PERFECT spot for this show!

My camera phone Photo library really looks unreal!
