Sunflower obsession

Both Montana and I (and the birds and bees!) are loving the cheery sunflowers this year. We planted a wide and random variety, many of them seeds we had laying around from prior years. We weren’t even sure any of them would grow. But, once again, the drip irrigation and landscape fabric did their job. Some of the varieties are 7+ feet tall with dinner plate-sized flower heads and 2 inch-thick stems. I also love the little 4-foot multi-flower varieties. They also offer a little shade to some of the accompanying plants in their beds. We will definitely be repeating (and expanding upon) this performance next year!

Bringing a few in with zinnias and cosmos.
