Best rose garden yet

Having a rose garden was always a priority for Steve. It’s a sentimental nod to his late Grandma Rose and his Grandpa Lukas who grew roses in honor of his fiesty wife. The rose area at the other house just never quite thrived.

This summer we carved out a simple little bed along the inside of the garden fence, covered it with our landscape fabric and tied it into the raised bed drip irrigation. Typically the first year is a little underwhelming. But already all of these roses are taking off. Also no pest problems at all. And the smell can be just what you would expect!

"Strike It Rich"

"Nitty Gritty Peach"

"Sunbelt Plum Perfect"

Now this one must have been mismarked, because it does not match the tag that came with it. "Mystery Rose #1"!

"Julia Child"
