Spokane River is alive and well!

We took a little trip downtown to check out the river during spring’s high water. We have a beautiful downtown park area, and as the book/movie says, a river runs through it.

We hopped in the cable cars to get a birds eye view. The downtown river area was originally developed for the World’s Fair in 1974, and it had fallen into quite a bit of disrepair by the time we arrived in town in 2014. But over the past ten years things have gotten a lot of much-needed attention, and the entire area is now really great. Apparently a zip line over the river is coming next, but do NOT expect any photos from that!
