Winter photo potpourri

As we ramp up for Christmas (and hopefully some snow!) there is a lot going on, though maybe not quite as “photographic” as usual! So here is a random set of shots that gives you a feel for some of the action.

Whitworth’s impressive musical program puts on an amazing choral concert each Christmas. It’s what we would call “The Real Deal”!

Steve stopping by the house during an informal ride-around for S.C.O.P.E., one of his new fun service activities. In a short period of time he has accumulated a whole new wardrobe of dark green logo’d merchandise. No shield, but an official lanyard badge, next best thing.

Montana had the brilliant idea of using the top section of her card catalog to act as a 15-day Advent calendar with little gifts in each drawer. Because it is my single most useful skill around here, I made her labels for this project. She and Elijah alternate the gift-giving. The 18th is special because it is Elijah’s birthday!

We hung up the giant wreath on Steve’s loft porch as before. I marvel every year at this house how much EASIER this project is than it used to be at the other house, where we had to “hoist” the 6-foot heavy wreath up to what was effectively a third floor barn window. Now we just walk it up the interior stairs and secure it on the ledge.

Starting to get frosty out there!

Look at this little survivor rose, so beautiful even when covered in frost.

Had to dress the Garden Goose in weather-appropriate attire.

Christmas decorating has started.

Pre-decorated tree. It’s quite a beauty, and we are enjoying in its new location this year. Our lights can switch between white and colored.

Rather than lights out front, we went for some live garlands instead this year.

Most of the chickens don’t mind a little snow and cold.
