Design time
We are getting ready to embark on one of our family projects for this spring: the goat playground! Of course we leave it to Montana to have the vision and Steve to lay out the construction plan. But I took the planning one step farther this time, and we made a three-dimensional model out of paper. Honestly, it might be the cutest thing we have ever created - who doesn’t love arts & crafts time?
Now we just have to figure out how to actually BUILD it!
The posts, sides, and ramps will be wood; the roofs will be corrugated metal (probably red like the goat barn, since this will be built in front of it. The little “doorways” are probably not quite to scale - we are really not sure how much space they need to get in/out.
The bases are 4’x4’, and we are not entirely sure just how wide the ramps will be - probably between 2’ and 3’ wide. I especially love the little yarn “rope” barriers on the open platform.
The 2-D design is off to the left. SO much easier to envision in 3-D, right?
The architect nervously awaits the client’s feedback. Luckily, she loves seeing her vision come to life very much - we have the green light!
Two platforms for three goats is perfect, because Tex will probably stay down underneath the platforms and/or ramps anyway.
